Students in grades 5-8 participated in the Rockin' Rollercoaster Academy. They learned about the physics that make Roller coasters a wild and crazy ride. Students had to construct their own roller coaster using materials provided to them like PVC insulation piping, cardboard, duct tape, and masking tape. There were certain specifications for the coasters like each one had to have at least one hill other than the initial drop, a loop, and a turn. The objective was to be able to run their coaster with a marble all the way through.
