Technology Teacher

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
● Design and develop curriculum that is aligned with NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency standards and integrate technology into all subject areas
● Plan and implement lessons that are engaging and interactive, using a variety of teaching methods and instructional technologies
● Foster students’ digital literacy and digital citizenship skills, as well as teach internet safety, responsible use of technology, and critical evaluation of digital content.
● Plan and implement appropriate assessments to determine students’ understanding of concepts
● Communicate regularly with parents/guardians

- Preparing 8th Grade Alegra 1 students for the June Alegra 1 Regents Exam
- Responsible for Homeroom duties
- Strong classroom management skills are required
- Familiarity with various instructional technology (i.e.: Google Classroom, eSchool, etc.), and/or a willingness to learn is required.
- Candidates must be VIRTUS Trained/Certified or be willing to complete the VIRTUS course.
- Bachelor’s degree leading to a Master’s degree with an NYS certification in Mathematics 7-12 (or pending certification)
- Teaching experience at the middle school level

• Coordinating and producing annual Christmas play/musical and Spring musical in collaboration with others
• Leading liturgical music and/or children’s choir
• Designing/creating musical playbills
• Participates in a professional learning community in the school
• Recording grades in eSchool in a timely manner
• Care and upkeep of musical instruments and other materials
• Use of computer/technology and/or other available instructional resources to enhance learning
• Guides students to understand how concepts/content are relevant to their lives
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience
● Bachelor’s degree leading to Master’s degree in Education, with certification in Music Education
● New York State permanent certification or Professional Certification

- Maintain an established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
