9/6/18 - Welcome Back!

Dear School Families,
We had a great start to the year yesterday, despite the extreme heat.  Now that the school year is underway I just want to give you remind you of some policies and procedures that are in place for this school year and also update you on a couple of events.

Arrival:  If you are dropping off your child please say goodbye to them in the foyer.  You will not be allowed past the carpet.  This is for the safety of all the students and staff.

Dropping Off Items:  If your child forgets something and you are dropping off the item you are to come to the office and leave it at the office.  We will call the child down to come pick up the item.

Visitors:  All Visitors will be buzzed in.  You will need to sign in at the table and then proceed right to the office to state your business.  All Visitors will be required to have a Visitor’s Pass.  No visitor is allowed past the office without a pass.

Picking Up: If you are picking up your child please make sure you are sending a note with them in the morning.  If you plan on picking them up throughout the whole year you just have to send in one note.  If a note is not brought in we assume they are taking the bus and they will be put on the bus.  Also, if you are picking up, please sign your child out and exit the building as soon as you have your child.  This will eleviate a crowd forming in the Foyer.

This Monday, September 10th will be the Annual Meet the Teacher Night.  The evening will run from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Here is a breakdown of the evening:
6:30-6:55pm Welcome and Presentation
6:55-7:00pm All parents will go down to Classrooms for Teacher Sessions
7:00-7:20pm Session 1
7:25-7:45pm Session 2
7:45-8:30pm Reception in the Prayer Garden (Weather Permitting)
Any parents that attend the 1st Session that don’t need to attend the 2nd Session you are more that welcome to come back to the Gym and socialize until the reception begins out in the prayer garden.
UPDATES:  This Sunday, September 9th all families are invited to Mass to Celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving for Fr. Peter Karalus who will be leaving Saint John Paul II Parish to start his new role as Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Buffalo.  We thank Fr. Peter for the 8 years he served as our Pastor.
The Mass will take place at 12 Noon followed by a lunch reception in the School Gym.  All are Welcome.
We are still in need of volunteers to help in the school kitchen.  If you are interested please contact me.

I look forward to working with all of you this school year.  Thank you for your support of our school and all that you do.

God Bless,
Mr. Bandelian, Principal
