Miss Ineson's 4th grade had a lot of fun decorating Valentine's cookies yesterday!
Mrs. Grad's 1st-grade class spent some time on Friday decorating their Valentine's Day mailboxes. These are just adorable and so beautiful! The creativity and thought these kiddos put into their special boxes is amazing. We can't wait to see their mailboxes filled with Valentine's.
Thank you to the moms who came to help with decorating: Mrs. Dhillon, Mrs. Fierle, and Mrs. Thie! Mrs. Collins took her Pre-K 3 kiddos outside last week to enjoy the warmer temps. Almost 60 degrees in Buffalo, NY in February? Yes, please!
Miss Hull's 2nd-grade class had a Superbowl-themed day on Friday (they had to make the most of it since the Bills weren't in it, right??)
The class wrote about team predictions, completed football-themed grammar, read about the Superbowl then answered comprehension questions, and played 3-digit addition scoot math games. It was a fun day for them! Thank you to Miss Hull's 2nd grade for preparing and reading in today's Mass. What an excellent job they did!
And thank you to Victor for taking some of these great pictures! Mrs. Grad's 1st grade is continuing with their animal trait lesson in science class. They learned about how some animals use camouflage to hide and protect themselves from predators. For a fun lesson, students were tasked with camouflaging a butterfly to somewhere in the room.
Mrs. Grad's 1st grade has been learning about animal traits in science. During a recent science lesson, they worked in pairs to use clothespins to mimic a bird's beak to find gummy worms and other small objects in the dirt. Then they hid the same objects for the next group to try and find them.
This past Saturday, SCS daughters and fathers gathered in the school gym for a night of dancing, laughs, and memories. Our annual Father/ Daughter Dance is always a night the girls and their dads look forward to and this year was something special. This year's theme was Disney so the dads could treat their daughters as the princesses they truly are! It was a night to remember forever!
A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Amanda West and Mrs. Carol Osuch for all of their hard work putting this amazing event together. The decorations were spectacular, the music was wonderful, but most importantly the dads and daughters had a blast. A special shout out to Jonathan Molik for his help with setup as well. It takes a village! To finish out Catholic Schools Week, we celebrated our volunteers, faculty, and staff today! Thank you to our wonderful faculty, staff, and administration for all that they do to educate our students and prepare them for their futures. Thank you to our amazing volunteers for the tireless work they do for this school!
The St. John Paul II Little Flower Ministry surprised our teachers and staff with beautiful flower arrangements which truly made our week. THANK YOU! This afternoon, for our fun Catholic Schools Week activity, students and faculty gathered in the gym for relay races and some rigorous games of BINGO. We had a great Catholic Schools Week here at Southtowns Catholic! Thank you to everyone for making it so amazing! Thank you to Mrs. Roman's 5th grade for preparing and reading in today's Mass.
A special thanks to Victor (6th grade) for the wonderful pictures |
