Hello everyone! My name is Heidi Mack, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce
myself. I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education from birth to sixth grade as well as a
Literacy certificate, from Medaille University. This education has provided me with a strong
foundation in my teaching career. I have only been teaching for ten years now, and I can
honestly say that every moment has been incredibly rewarding!
I’ve had the pleasure of being part of the Southtowns Catholic School community for the past
five years as an AIS (Academic Intervention Service) teacher. Previously, I was working as a
pre-K teacher at my parish, Saint Bernadette’s. One of my favorite things about being here is
the sense of family and support that we share. The dedication of our teachers, the
enthusiasm of our students and the involvement of our parents create a vibrant learning
environment that I truly cherish.
Before I became a teacher, I was a legal secretary for a law firm in Buffalo. Once I decided to
have a family, I decided to become a full time mother. Being involved in my son’s school
growing up, gave me the desire to go back to school and become a teacher. All these
experiences have contributed to my passion to be with children and my commitment to
helping students thrive and learn to their highest potential.
My family includes my husband of 40 plus years, a son and five grandchildren. They all bring
joy and laughter in my life and I am grateful for their love and support.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy reading a good book or volunteering with different
local organizations. Additionally, as a clown it is a joy for me to connect with others in a fun
way and spread a bit of happiness in our community. Though I may not have magic tricks up
my sleeve as a clown, I love to connect with others!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I look forward to working with all
of you and having many more fantastic years ahead of us at Southtowns Catholic School.
