Saint John Paul II Parish had Blessing of the Backpacks on September 8th. Before Mass started, students at Southtowns Catholic School placed all their backpacks in front of the Altar. During Mass, Father Peter Karalus and Father Michael LaMarca held up their hands, said a prayer for the back packs and everything the symbolize for the school year. When they were done, then sprinkled the back packs and congregation with Holy Water.
