Miss Wiktor's 3rd grade class took advantage of the lovely weather earlier this week by enjoying a game of fetch with Pio and Fr. Sean on the church's front lawn. It's always a good day to see Pio and Fr. Sean!

The Kindergarten class has been learning about our planet. As a fun, hands-on project, students painted their own planet Earths. They could make it any theme, but had to have land and water. One student made a football-shaped Earth, while one made a video game-themed one. They had a lot of fun with this one!
On Friday, we celebrated our March Students of the Month, highlighting the virtues of sacrifice and mercy. We are incredibly proud of the students who received awards this month.
On Friday, students from 6th to 8th grade were welcomed into the National Junior Honor Society. During the ceremony, we lit five candles, each symbolizing one of the NJHS pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship. Following the brief ceremony, inductees, along with their families, middle school students, and the 5th graders, celebrated with cake and punch. This year's new members will engage in a service project later in the year. Congratulations to all the new NJHS members!
Great job to Miss Hull's 2nd-grade class for preparing and reading in today's Mass! They did an excellent job with the readings
In Kindness Club yesterday, students gathered to decorate socks for "Rock Your Socks Day," which is a way to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st. People wear colorful, mismatched socks to show support for people with Down syndrome.
You may be asking, why socks? People choose to wear mismatched socks because when viewed on a karyotype, the Down syndrome chromosomes look like mismatched socks. We invite everyone to wear mismatched socks on March 21st to show support for those with Down syndrome. Thank you so much to Mrs. Mary Beth McCormick and Ms. Mary Kruszka for setting up this special Kindness Club session! 💜💛 Thank you to our 6th and 7th graders for reading and preparing today's Mass. It was also great to welcome back Fr. Sean to our school Mass!
Sending you heartfelt wishes for a meaningful Ash Wednesday. May this season of reflection bring you closer to God and fill your heart with his love. Congratulations to all the January Students of the Month! It's wonderful to celebrate students who exemplify determination and gratitude, our January character traits – keep up the fantastic work!
2nd grade had a jam-packed day full of fun and learning on Friday. Students entered the classroom, which was decked out for a Super Bowl football day. They designed jerseys, learned the history of the Super Bowl, graphed votes for who they thought would win, made their Valentine's Day mailboxes, and ate concessions stand snacks while watching Buffalo Bills' highlights from the past season.
I think we were all pretty happy with the outcome of last night's game What makes coming to school a little (and we mean just a little!) better after the Bills lose to the Chiefs? Wearing pajamas to school!
Students began their morning with pancakes prepared and served by SCS faculty. The school smelled amazing all morning! Classes watched movies while enjoying their pancakes. Tomorrow is "Dress Like a Teacher Day". Bring your best SCS teacher impersonations! |
