Hello! My name is Dan Darnley and I am the Instrumental/General Music Teacher, as well as the part-time Computer Technology teacher here at Southtowns Catholic. I graduated with dual baccalaureate degrees in Music Education and History with a focus in American Political and Presidential history; as well as a Masters Degree in Music Education. Aside from teaching at Southtowns, I am the Varsity Head Coach for the Hamburg Varsity Bowling team, Percussion Director for the West Seneca Marching Band, and Head Coach of Hilbert College Women’s Bowling. I have bowled numerous 300 games, and currently hold 5 New York State Championships as an athlete and coach. In my spare time I enjoy doing research and writing about historical topics, traveling, and staying as active as possible. I love teaching music because it is the melding of all academic areas and interests of each student. I like to engage students in their interests outside of music and combine the analytical and emotional aspects of music within each lesson. I believe that the reinforcement and activation of the individual students’ interest will not only enhance their abilities in music, but give every student an opportunity to explore topics that interest them the most in music. I am truly blessed to be here and make it my goal to help our students achieve the highest level of success daily. |
