Several students from Southtowns Catholic School came to Sturgeon Point Marina on Saturday, September 16th to participate in the Great Lakes Beach Sweep. The Beach Sweep is part of the International Coastal Cleanup & Ocean Conservancy. The kids collected and recorded the garbage that they found in a 2 hour time period and all the information will be sent to the Ocean Conservancy. After they were done, a few of them went to Woodlawn Beach State Park to help fill the dumpsters after the event was over.
