It is with bittersweet thoughts and emotions that I announce that Mrs. Judith MacDonald, Principal of Southtowns Catholic School will retire at the end of the current school year. Mrs. MacDonald has spent her entire professional career in Catholic Education and the last 15 years as Principal of Southtowns Catholic School.
The number of students she has helped educate and form in our faith is vast. Mrs. MacDonald has put her heart and soul into Southtowns Catholic School, and into the effort to make it a school where children can learn in a safe and nurturing environment, where parents can be assured of a quality educational experience, and where the community can see Catholic values and beliefs in action. She has been a great leader of our school community and her leadership will be greatly missed but her retirement is well earned. I am sure you will join me in thanking Mrs. MacDonald and congratulate her on her retirement. In her retirement, Mrs. MacDonald plans to still be present in our school community.
Our school’s Board of Limited Jurisdiction will form a search committee to fill the position of Principal in time for the beginning of the 2017-18 school year. The committee will be composed of representatives of the board, the faculty, parents, and the parish. Please pray that the Lord will bless us with a new principal that will lead the school continuing the example of the hard work, leadership, energy, dedication, and faith that Mrs. MacDonald has so generously shared.
In the meantime, let us all give thanks for Mrs. MacDonald’s service to Southtowns Catholic School and we will plan appropriate celebrations of ministry to our school in the coming months.
