Mr. Sam Stirk's Grade 5 Science class is studying mold. The students broke into groups and were given a strawberry, bread, a piece of an orange and a piece of an apple. The group was given a choice of lemon juice, vegetable oil, alcohol or baby shampoo. The assignment was to cover your fruit and bread with your liquid and then observe it for 2 weeks to see how the liquid affected it. (This editor thought it was very cool and gross!)
