Mrs. Grad's 1st grade did a pumpkin investigation for one of their science lessons. Mrs. Grad cut open a pumpkin and the kiddos put on gloves to feel the guts and seeds and make observations about them. The class also did an ELA lesson about pumpkins where they used adjectives to describe the outside and inside. Then, the class filled out a sheet where they did other things like measure their pumpkin with a cube and predict whether a smaller pumpkin would sink or float in water (which they found out would float!)
