Mrs. Grad's 1st grade is learning about light waves and how things can be transparent, translucent, or opaque. The class did an experiment where they had to make a prediction about whether cling wrap, wax paper, or cardstock would be transparent, translucent, or opaque. Each student was given a flashlight to shine on the material to test and see if their prediction was correct. Afterward, they held the materials to up the window to see if it worked the same for sunlight, which it did.
It looks like this experiment was a hit with the 1st graders!
