Middle School Math Teacher, Grades 6-8 (with the possibility of Algebra 1 Regents)

Full-time teacher for the 2024-25 School year 
Salary: $28,500 (negotiable with experience)
The candidate will maintain a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration, and choice. Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
Middle School Math, Grades 6-8, teaching one class section at each level
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Candidate must be able to work with a variety of students and be willing to differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of the students
  • Candidates must also work closely with the Administration and Middle School Team to implement Mathematics Standards at the appropriate level
  • Responsible for Homeroom duties
  • Strong classroom management skills are required
  • Familiarity with various instructional technology (i.e.: Google Classroom, eSchool, etc.), and/or a willingness to learn is required.
  • Candidates must be VIRTUS Trained/Certified or be willing to complete the VIRTUS course.
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree leading to a Master’s degree with an NYS certification in Mathematics 7-12 (or pending certification)
  • Teaching experience at the middle school level
  • First-year teachers welcome! 
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of NYS Algebra I standards and ability to administer the Algebra 1 Regents Exam
  • Candidate must have good communication skills with students and parents

Substitute Teachers  

As needed for Grades Pre-K - 8th Grade. 
  • Qualifications/Skills: Certification preferred, although not required
  • Candidate will: provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
    • Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
    • Maintain an established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned. 
    • Communicate effectively with parents when needed. 
    • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Hours: As Needed 
  • Salary: Commensurate DOE​
