| | | Spring has finally arrived! The caterpillars are changing into butterflies, the trees and flowers are blooming and our Preschool children are changing as well. They have emerged from their cocoons and have learned so many new things and have had so much fun doing it!!
The month of May & June will bring more learning adventures and memories to last a lifetime.
EVALUATIONS:
Evaluation forms will be going home this month. It will give you an opportunity to let us know how we’re doing and any suggestions you may have for the school.
THEMES:
Our Tues/Thurs classes will be learning about insects, flowers, pond life and summer safety.
FIELD TRIPS:
Our Tues/Thurs classes will take their second field trip to Chiavetta’s Greenhouse in Brant. The date will be Thurs., May 15th. A sign up sheet will be posted for volunteer drivers.
The MWF classes will take their last two field trips this month. They will finally be going over to STC (North Campus) for a very special day. Both classes will attend school from 9 – 2 on Friday, May 16th. We will be attending Mass at 9 AM and go on a tour of the Kindergarten, participate in an Art activity and have lunch. In the afternoon we will participate in the “Miles for Madison” walk on the school grounds. A letter will be going home soon.
The second trip will be to the Zoo which will be on Tues., May 20th. The chaperones are selected by Lottery and 4 parents from each class will be selected. The Zoo has increased its charges to $4.50. , We are asking each child to contribute $2.50 towards the trip, The preschool will make up the difference and the Home School will pay for the bus. All adults must pay $7.25. Please send this in ASAP. More information to follow.
The gorge trip will be Fri., June 2 during the MA session.
MOTHER’S DAY:
The Tues/Thurs classes will be holding their annual “MOTHER’S DAY TEA” on Thurs., May 10th at 10:15 or the AM classes and 1:45 for the PM class. This class will have a special Tea Party with “Make Your Own Sundaes”, muffins and tea. Each Mom will do an art project and will conclude with the children performing special songs.
The MWF classes will have their annual “MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON” on Mon, May 5th at 10:30 & 2 PM. This class will prepare a special lunch, sing songs and read a lovely story. All children will come at their regular time. Siblings are not permitted. This is a special time for you and your child and we guarantee it will be memorable.
TUITION:
All tuition must be paid by Mon., May 12.
If you are currently behind in your payments please take care of them by this date.
There is no tuition for the month of June, however, if you are registered for next year, the first month’s tuition (Sept. 2008) will be due in June at the Parent Teacher Orientation. More info will follow.
REGISTRATION:
We are filling up fast for the 2008-09 school year.
Our Tues/Thurs classes A.M. class is full. Our M/W/F A.M. class is also full.
We still have openings is our Tues/Thurs and M/W/F/ classes. If you are aware of someone who may be interested, please have them call the school.
Our orientation for 2008-09 will be held on Thurs., June 12th for the Tues/Thurs classes and Friday, June 13th for the MWF classes. Please put this date aside and plan on attending with your child.
UNBIRTHDAY PARTIES:
All classes will have a special “Un-birthday” party for children who celebrate their birthdays in the summer months.
The Tues/Thurs classes will have their party on Tues., May 27. A sign up sheet will be posted for all children this may concern.
The MWF classes will hold their party on Wed., May 21. A sign up sheet will also be posted for our summer birthday children.
KRISPIE KREME:
The preschool will conduct their annual Krispie Kreme Donut Sale on Fri., May 2nd. This is the Preschool’s only fund-raiser in which all the profits go directly to the Preschool. The profits are used for our annual SCHOOL CARNIVAL which will be held on Thurs., MAY 29.
The carnival is held on our school grounds with a Bounce House, prizes, pizza and lots more!
As you know, prices are rising and without our donut sale we would not be able to supply all the things needed for such a fun event.
We are asking each family to sell at least 2 dozen donuts if possible. The donuts will be available “hot & fresh” bright and early Friday morning. More info will be available closer to this date.
NO SCHOOL:
The School will be closed from May 23rd through May 26 for Memorial.
GRADUATION:
Our MWF classes will have graduation on Thurs., June 5 at 6:30 PM in Neylon Hall, next door to our building. Everyone is invited to attend. The children should wear their “SUNDAY BEST”.
More information will go home closer to this date.

TBA- Tues/Thurs Trip to Garden Center | | | PEANUT ALERT ~ ALLERGY INFORMATION | | | 
| | | This year we have several children at our Preschool who have allergies. One of the children is highly allergic to peanuts, nuts and tree nuts. We are asking all parents NOT to send in birthday treats or special snacks that contain peanuts, nut oils(including peanut).
There are a few children in each class with other food allergies. Before you plan on sending in any snack, lease check with one of our directors to make sure it will be a safe snack for everyone!! Thank you so much for your cooperation regarding this matter. | | | SCHOOL CLOSING | | | 
| | | In the case of inclement weather the preschool is closed if either/or LAKE SHORE OR FRONTIER are closed.
Southtowns Catholic School closing includes our preschool and the announcement can be found on www.southtownscatholic.org Homepage or on Channel 2 & 4 and WBEN 930 AM.
In the event the weather changes dramatically in the afternoon, we may close school for the PM session. You will be notified by phone if this should happen. | | |
