Today as a school, we prayed the stations of the cross as Mrs. Roman's 5th grade class acted them out. What a fantastic job these kids did! It was beautiful!
Thank you to Miss Ineson's 4th-grade class for preparing and reading in today's Mass. As always, thank you to Fr. Mike for celebrating with us!
Let's hear it for our Lady Chargers!!!!
The Varsity Girls Basketball team won the championship last night beating Queen of Heaven with a score of 22-14! These girls played one heck of a game and had an incredible season! We're so proud of each and every single one of them! Great season girls! We would also like to mention that 3 of our girls took home additional awards: Raegan Davis (grade 7) and Marley Florea (grade 8) made the All-Tournament Team and Teagan Ferris (grade 7) was named MVP. Congratulations! A HUGE thank you goes out to Coach Brian Ferris for all of his hard work and dedication this year. We're so lucky to have him here at SCS. Way to go, Chargers!!! Before the weekend, students in Mrs. Grad's 1st grade worked in pairs to make leprechaun traps and set them up. On Monday, the kiddos came in to find that unfortunately, the leprechaun had evaded all their traps, but he liked their effort so much that he left them a scavenger hunt that led them to their own pot of chocolate gold!
The class also did lucky charms math and graphing activity. On Friday, March 15th, Mothers and sons of SCS assembled in the gym for a friendly night of Nerf Wars. To say it was mostly the boys playing would be a lie. There were plenty of moms out on the course as well as some of the school administrators. We paused for pizza, but the boys couldn't wait to get back out on the floor. Everyone had fun and we'll be finding Nerf darts all over the gym for the next few months 😆
A huge thank you to our HSA for organizing this event. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Lueck for all you did to get this event back on its feet. A HUGE shout-out to Mrs. Manley's Faith Formation students who set up the course and stayed to ref and even played with the boys. They even hung out and cleaned up at the end. They're true MVPs here! We hope everyone has a blast. We'll keep you posted on the next parent-child event coming up! Thank you to Rob and Carol Allen and Milk for Health for the amazing magic show on Friday. Rob and Carol have come to SCS for several years now and students and teachers look forward to it every year! Rob's show is nutrition-focused and the kids walk away learning about the importance of dairy all through MAGIC!
Thank you to Rob and Carol! Today was our Student of the Month Awards for January and February. The Character traits we recognized today we Determination for Januart and Inclusion for February. Great job to all of our students who took home awards today! We're proud of all our students today and every day!
Thank you to Mrs. Roman's 5th-grade class for preparing and reading in today's Mass. They did such a wonderful job!
And thank you to Fr. Tim for joining us to celebrate. Miss Wiktor's 3rd class finished their animal research projects! Each student was assigned an animal and had to first conduct research in their research packet and then type it up on their Chromebooks. They were also asked to complete an art component which consisted of drawing a picture of their assigned animal in their ecosystem.
These kids are pretty talented. Their projects turned out great! Mrs. Grad's 1st grade has been learning about space patterns and how everything is predictable like the phases of the moon. For a science lesson, the class made the phases of the moon with Oreos and used a spoon to cut away the icing to create the moon phases.
