Hello! My name is Tina Hedges and I am the kindergarten teacher here at Southtowns Catholic. I graduated from Buffalo State College with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and childhood education. I continued to pursue my dream of teaching at Medaille College where I earned my master’s degree in literacy. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a high school student. It was then that I realized that I wanted to inspire children to develop a passion for learning. It is my goal to make lessons meaningful and exciting for every student in my class. Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach and I have so much excitement for this school year here at Southtowns. I have had my own classroom when I taught in Florida. There I taught first grade then kindergarten. I knew from that moment on that kindergarten had a special place in my heart. My husband and I decided to move back to Buffalo after the birth of my son, Brodie. It has been an amazing journey that I have been on during my teaching career. I am incredibly thankful for every experience and friendship I have gained along the way. It is without a doubt a wonderful opportunity to teach here with all of the faculty, staff, and families! |
