On Monday, December 9th, Southtowns Catholic School celebrated St. Nicholas Day with a visit to each classroom by from the legendary saint. The students made shoes and left them lining the halls so that a candy cane could be dropped in each one. Stories about St. Nicholas later become part of the inspiration for the modern-day Santa Claus. December 6th is Saint Nicholas Day but they did not have school.
