The School Board governs both the PreSchool and the Elementary School and work hard to provide all of our children with the best learning environment possible. The following committees are part of the Board. We welcome any parent or parishoner interested in contributing to any committee. Please contact Diana Berkhoudt, 947-4938, if you are interested in helping the School Board carry out its functions.
Development Committee
This committee concerns itself with the financial long term plan of the school. The Annual Campaign educates school supporters of the special needs items obtained and desired for the school. It is through the generous donations of the Campaign that wish list items such as computers, printers, scanners, copiers, lockers, enhanced Religious programs, and classroom furniture. A percentage of the Campaign’s donations further ensure the long term success of the school by adding to the value of the STC endowment fund. The Alumni Association falls under the jurisdiction of this committee also.
Publicity Committee
This committee has seen 25-40 articles/photos published during each of the past 3 years in local newspapers. It strives to keep the local community informed on STC happenings. With great cooperation among the committee, teachers and parents, STC is well publicized. Several parents have volunteered to serve as publicity liasons to the various grade levels. Additional volunteers could be used in the Dec/Jan timeframe when the Publicity Committee updates our Open House/PreSchool visit material.
Policy and Planning Committee
A 5 year plan for the school requires review and updating annually, as it is a living document reflecting the focus of our school. The long term educational, development and spiritual goals of the school are enumerated and prioritized to ensure STC remains focused on providing our children with a competitive faith filled education.
Buildings and Grounds Committee
The school buildings and grounds are the concern of this committee. Recent accomplishments have included improved ventilation, utility usage studies and locker and cubby acquisition. The Technology Committee, responsible for keeping STC’s computers humming, is a B&G subcommittee.
Finance Committee
The operating budget of the school is the main focus of this committee. Budgets are set, reviewed and updated throughout the year. Tuition and registration fees are set by this committee after a careful review of the financial state of the school. The committee has worked very hard in the recent past to encourage teacher retention, keep tuition increases as low as possible, provide faculty and staff with supplies necessary for efficient day to day operation while maintaining a healthy financial state. | | | STC SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS 2007-2008 | | | | | All scheduled meetings begin at 6:30 PM and will be held in the small Conference Room next to the Religious Ed Office unless otherwise specified.
