I grew up in Central New York, in a suburb of Utica. I graduated from Whitesboro Central High School, where my father taught health and coached several sports. He was a fantastic role model as a teacher, because he was always there for his students. I have always wanted to be a teacher, like him.
I have taught in a variety of school settings and grade levels which include public and private schools in all grade levels from Pre-K through grade 6. Before teaching in the Diocese of Buffalo I substitute taught for the Kenmore-Tonawanda, Cheektowaga Central, and West Seneca Central School Districts just to name a few. In the school year of 1998-1999 I obtained my first full-time teaching position at St. Rose of Lima school in North Buffalo, where I taught reading (grades 1-3) and library (grades Pre-K-5). During the 1990-2000 school year I taught 3rd grade at Holy Spirit school, also in North Buffalo. In September of 2000 I came to Southtowns Catholic. I taught 2nd grade for my first two years here and have been in fifth grade ever since.
I believe teaching is a calling for me. I feel my job as an educator is to expose students to topics and share my love of learning with them. I feel that anything is possible with effort. I love working with students and seeing them get excited about learning. I try to answer all questions if I can, and in my class there is no such thing as a silly question! The only way to learn is to ask!
