GR4 - Mrs. Hill

Bio

I graduated from Gannon University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a dual minor in Early Childhood Education and Spanish.  While at Gannon University, I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Granada, Spain.  After graduating, I began working at Southtowns Catholic School.  I first taught Spanish, K - 8 and then settled into my current position in fourth grade. I am looking forward to finishing my Masters Degree at Fredonia State in
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Being a teacher at SCS has allowed me to not only encourage academic excellence, but also to emphasize Catholic traditions with my students. My husband and I truly believe that the integration of faith, academics and values is so unique to our “SCS Family” that we send our son, Brady to school here!

~Did you LOVE your Mother's Day presents?  The fourth grade was super excited to create their magazine covers and to make the lip gloss!!

~From now until the end of the year, our class may wear their Apple t-shirts for gym class.

-~State testing is almost over!!  We pushed on through ELA & Math and now we move onto Science.  The "hands-on" section will be on May 30 and the written section will be on June 4.

~Our next field trip will be on May 23 to Wegmans Food Market.  Our class has been invited to participate in their "Eat Well, Live Well"  tour.  This is a fun hands-on tour that allows our class to experience all that Wegmans has to offer.

~Our new SMARTBOARD is here!!!  Thank you to the Vogt Family Foundation for allowing our classroom to integrate technology into our curriculum.  Our new Smartboard is one of the best on the market!  The following individuals worked "behind the scenes" to get our Smartboard in our room and deserve our gratitude:
THANK YOU to Karen Gartleman!  Mrs. Gartleman was intrumental in writing the grant and obtaining the SMARTBoards for our school.
THANK YOU to Bob Pawelsk from Hilbert College! Bob guided our school in the right direction, answered our millions of questions, offered inservice training for our teachers and even installed our new boards.  He was a HUGE resource!
THANK YOU to Mr. Marsello, Mr. Tom, Mr. Mark & Mr. Janiga for installing all of the hardware and doing all the software updates needed so that we could use the boards.
