Math

This week we started Chapter 9; Money.

In Chapter 9 children will.....

* recognize the value of a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.

* count on by 1's to find the value of a group of coins.

* trade and compare money amounts.

* add and subtract money amounts.

* solve problems by using a model.

Please review the coins with your child, and the value of each coin at home or when you are out shopping to reinforce skills!!

Books in a Bag

Every Friday your child will be coming home with Books in a Bag.  Please have your child read these books to you over the weekend.  Encourage your child to sound out missed words as they read.  Please have your child return the bag with the books in it the following Monday.

Thank you!!
