Southtowns Catholic School follows the directives and mandates of the New York State Education Department and the Diocese of Buffalo Catholic Schools Department. Our curriculum follows the new NYS Core Curriculum and the Diocese of Buffalo Academic and Religion Curriculum.
Our teachers guide the learning experiences both spiritually and academically that are within the capabilities of each student.
Catholic school educators are a very important resource of the Church in introducing students to a life of faith. Their role in this demension of their ministry contributes greatly to the spiritual growth of our sudents.
Southtowns Catholic School implements the Religion Curriculm developed by the Diocese of Buffalo, Department of Catholic Schools.
Liturgy & Prayer Service:
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 attend the 9 AM Mass every Friday and Holydays throughout the school year. Preschool 4 year old students attend Mass on the first Friday of every month. Teachers coordinate liturgies and prayer services in accordance with the Liturgical Year.
Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist:
Prepartion for, and recption of, the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist takes place in the context of the parish community. Parents are the primary educators of their children and are expected to be involved in the process and attend scheduled meetings.
All third grade will have the opportunity to celebrate together as a Communion Class at SCS at a School Mass following their First Communion.
Students are offered the opportunity to receive Reconciliation several times during the school year.
Southtowns Catholic School provides the following subjects Mathematics, English Language Arts, Reading/Literature, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Physical Education, Health, Music, Art, Library and Technology.

Southtowns Catholic School participates in The New York State Testing Program in Math and English Language Arts from Grades 3 through 8 and the New York State Grade 4 and 8 Science Testing.
